MISSING THE FOOTBALL? SPAR SCOTLAND LAUNCHES THE SPAR FOOTIE CHALLENGE

On 12 June, SPAR Scotland launches a new online campaign called the SPAR Footie Challenge.

Running until 14 July, the leading convenience retailer in Scotland, SPAR, is working with the Scottish FA and has designed exciting interactive football material for everyone to enjoy with the support of national team striker Lana Clelland.

Taking place on both the SPAR Scotland Facebook and Instagram pages, the campaign will also be supported in SPAR stores with POS directing customers online for some football fun. The Scottish FA will also be sharing the activities and have an online hub of activities branded SPAR.

Last year SPAR Scotland committed to supporting the Scotland Women’s National Team as well as sponsoring girls’ grassroots football across Scotland.

Speaking about the new campaign, SPAR Scotland CEO, Colin McLean said: “We know many are missing the football and we wanted to create a bit of fun for football fans along with helping the SFA promote the players of the women’s team. We hope children will be excited to take part and maybe some adults too!”

The campaign will include a competition where a signed Women’s National Team Shirt can be won. There will be a Q&A with SWNT player Lana Clelland, fact sheets, football challenges, quizzes and many more fun activities.

Lana Clelland: “This has been such a challenging time for everyone but it’s important to remain positive and keep active.

“I live in Italy and they were obviously affected badly by COVID-19 but we are beginning to come out the other side now.

“When we were forced to stay inside I kept practicing my skills indoors and have shared some challenges which hopefully encourage youngsters out there to give them a go.”

The SPAR Footie Challenge will run from Friday 12 June until Tuesday 15 July 2020.
