SPAR Kirriemuir have recently donated a generous £500 to ANGUSalive’s Gateway to the Glens Museum. The money was raised through the sale of single use carrier bags that now cost customers 5p.

The ANGUSalive museum, which attracted 9,203 visitors last year, is a charitable trust and they are delighted to receive donations from sponsors, partners and community groups.

Museum Officer Rachel Jackson said “We are extremely grateful to SPAR Scotland, in particular SPAR Kirremuir, for this generous award, which will be used to enhance the displays in the museum, which opened in 2001 in the townhouse building which has been at the heart of Kirriemuir since 1604.”

Clare Narey, Area Manager for SPAR Kirriemuir said “We are delighted that the money raised from our carrier bag sales can be put to such good use within the local community.”
