SPAR Scotland has generously donated a cheque for £6000 to The Scarlett Fund; our carrier bag fund has supported the Scarlett Fund at the Scarlett Ball for the past 4 years and has raised over £28,000. SPAR Scotland started donating towards the charity before Scarlett was even one year old, now Scarlett is at school and doing extremely well.

Scarlett’s parents, Nichola and Peter, organised another charity ball at Glasgow’s Crowne Plaza and raised another £25,000 which will be split between the British Heart Foundation and Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

Nichola Dougan said “On behalf of The Scarlett Fund, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for supporting this year’s Scarlett’s Ball. I am absolutely thrilled to announce that this year's ball raised £25,328. We can't wait to see you again next year on the 4th of November!”

The money will be used not only to help some of Scotland’s most sick children but also to aid research that will change the lives of people living with heart conditions.

The money was raised through the sale of single-use carrier bag which, since October 2014 has cost customers 5p per bag and was collected and donated to a local charity nominated by the relevant stores.
