SPAR stores in Scotland will be stocking a range of bedding plants from bedding grower A & G Young, based on the east of Scotland, ahead of the May Day bank holiday weekend.

Working with the Scottish based supplier A & G Young, SPAR stores will have a variety of plants available including Pansies, Violas, French Marigolds and Petunias priced at £3.29.

Colin McLean, CEO at SPAR Scotland, said: “It is great that we can continue to support this Scottish supplier and be able to offer customers interested in gardening a great range of bedding plants from A & G Young in time for the bank holiday weekend.

“We hope that by offering a range of bedding plants will encourage people to be active throughout the lockdown.”

A & G Young are a third generation family business, based in Kinrossie, on the east coast of Scotland. Their nursery consists of 12 acres of glasshouses and they currently supply trade customers throughout Scotland and the north of England.

Garry Young of A & G Young, said: “We are delighted to continue supplying SPAR stores in Scotland with a range of bedding plants. It’s a very difficult time at the moment as garden centres across the country have closed and by being able to supply convenience stores helps save plants from going to waste.
