From 6 May, SPAR stores in Scotland will be stocking a variety of Hamilton-based iconic ice cream maker Equi’s Ice Cream.

SPAR stores will be stocking a variety of flavours including mint choc, strawberry ripple, Isle of Skye sea salt and Scottish tablet in two tub sizes.

Selling at £1.59 for 120ml tub and £3.99 for 500ml tub, the leading convenience store group said it was excited to support this great Scottish ice cream producer.

“We are very excited to stock a range of the award winning Equi’s ice cream in our SPAR stores – perfect for our customers as we move into the summer months,” said Colin McLean, CEO of SPAR Scotland.

“This is a Scottish company known for creating irresistible artisan ice cream using high quality ingredients from local dairy farms with secret family recipes that have been handed down through four generations. We have no doubt that they will be a great addition to our ice cream range.”

In 1914 great grandfather Pietro Equi aged just 15 came to Scotland to seek his fortune and found his calling selling the incredible gelato he missed from Italy.

Descendent of Pietro and Owner David Equi, said: “Equi’s Ice Cream has a passion for creating exquisitely irresistible ice cream. Over the last few years we’ve continued to grow our business and we are delighted that our products will be available from SPAR stores around Scotland and grateful for the continued support from CJ Lang and Son Ltd.”

Equi’s was named UK champion for the third time at the prestigious National Ice Cream Awards and Champion of Champions at the Royal Highland Show event.
