SPAR Scotland celebrated the opening of their brand new SPAR store in Halbeath, Dunfermline with a spectacular Launch Day on Monday 19th March 2018.

Children from Carnegie Primary School were given the important task of cutting the red ribbon, with many local residents gathering outside to view the store being officially opened.

There were many activities inside, including sampling a range of SPAR Brand products and Healthy Living stand. Customers could enter prize draw competitions as well as take advantage of deep cut promotions across a variety of products. The first 300 customers through the door were also given free SPAR Goody bags.

Two local charities, CHAS and Home Start were each presented with a generous £1000 donation.

Alison Rennie, Community Fundraiser at CHAS, said: ‘By giving this donation at the opening of their new store in Dunfermline, SPAR is helping us to reach every family. Thank you to everyone who was involved, we are truly grateful for your support’.

Elaine Dryburgh from Home Start, said: ‘We are increasingly dependent on fund-raising and donations due to on-going reductions in funding, and we really appreciate this support which will help families in our local community’.

The store has a free to use ATM, Post Office, Lottery, an extensive fresh range including local suppliers, an extensive hot and cold food to go offer, bean to cup coffee, a bakery servover, a wide range of beers, wines and spirits as well as a comprehensive frozen, grocery and non-foods offer.

The opening of the store has created twenty new jobs for local residents.
